  1. Hello,
Thank you for producing these spreadsheets for the 2023 2024 season.
FYI, the calculated league tables do not agree with the official tables on the EFL website (or BBC). I think away goals scored are ahead of alphabetical order in terms of determining the order of the tables. e.g. in League One Exeter City are above Bolton Wanderers, as they scored 3 away goals, whereas Bolton scored 3 home goals.

    Thank you, kind regards.

  2. Good Day. I entered the result for today’s Sheffield Wednesday – Southampton match and while the “League Table” tab of the spreadsheet shows the correct next opponent for the above mentioned clubs, it also shows Birmingham City as the winner and West Brom as the loser. All other applicable tabs shows the result for the correct clubs. Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions.

  3. Hello JTang,

Thank you for these spreadsheets and all the hard work that has gone into creating them, they are very much appreciated by me.

I hope you do not mind me making a few suggestions/comments.

I am using Excel version 2010 14.0.7268.5000 (64 bit) and I am unable to get the SPI data to update after pressing the macro button on the SPI tab. The spi_global_rankings tab updates to the latest values but then I get a VBA error as follows.
Run-time error ‘5’ Invalid procedure call or argument
I suspect this is down to the old version of Excel that I am using. I am unable to use the Debug button to help you with tracing the error as it is protected.
I am using the latest download 2022-23_20220817 and I tried to update the SPI from the date 24th August 2022.

Is there a way to remove the decimal places on Tab Predicted_Table Columns G, H, I, and K? It doesn’t look correct to see 79.4 points, I would rather see 79.

Another comment Norwich City has changed their club badge pre-season.

    Thank you, kind regards

    Freddy.

    1. Hi,
The spreadsheets are not tested in Excel version 2010. I will look into remove the decimal places in the Predicted Table tab. Thanks for the suggestion. I will change the club badge for Norwich City before the next update.

      Thanks!

  4. Thank you very much!!!

I was able to download all of the files without any problems.

    Have a good day!!!

  5. Good Day!!!

I just want to put in detail what the issue is with all the soccer league spreadsheets:

I changed the Time Zone to US Eastern. When I hit Update All Without Auto Fill, the update ran fine until the Team Fixture List where the following error message appeared:

    Run-time error ‘1004’:
    The specified file wasn’t found.

I then clicked “End” and the Fixtures by Club tab came up and there was no data. Also, the scores would not update for the Championship and League One spreadsheets.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

    Thank you.

          1. Good Day!!!

Unfortunately, with the exception of the League One spreadsheet, the same issue happened when downloading the updated league spreadsheets.

When I hit Update All Without Auto Fill, the update ran fine until the Team Fixture List where the following error message
            appeared:

            Run-time error ‘1004’:
            The specified file wasn’t found.

I then clicked “End” and the Fixtures by Club tab came up and there was no data.

There was a different issue with the League One spreadsheet and I left a comment.

            Thank you.

  6. Good Day!!!

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else, but when I downloaded the new spreadsheets for all the soccer leagues, they all have an issue when I update without auto fill after choosing US Eastern for the correct time zone in my location.

The issue comes when updating the team fixture list and after I press end to stop the update, the team fixture list disappears. Also, it did not update today’s results in the Championship and League One spreadsheets when I tried to do that today.

Please advise when you have the opportunity and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  7. Good Day!!!

FYI, Derby County received an additional 9-point deduction after admitting to breaches of the EFL’s Profitability and Sustainability rules. Derby County now has 0 points (see attached link – please note, the story was before Derby County’s victory today).

Also, Reading received a 6-point deduction after admitting to breach of EFL’s profit and sustainability rules. Reading now has 17 points (see attached link).
